Reuben Kloot (CNA, CNE, N5)

Reuben (age 47), a serial mining entrepreneur, started his own mining consulting business in 2007, Saxon Mining & Exploration (“Saxon”) which later expanded into the Saxon group of companies (including Saxon Diamonds Pty Ltd., Saxon Heavy Minerals Pty Ltd.), which provides technical services into the energy and mining sector. Some of the projects includes, coal supply for Eskom (Tutuka Power Station), chrome concentrate to numerous international clients, technical advisory to Tata Steel for their Sedibeng Iron Ore mine and diamond mining contracting for Alexkor. Other projects under his development are a heavy mineral sands project on the West Coast RSA and a battery grade manganese project in the North West Province, near the border of Botswana. Reuben comes from a diamond mining family with over 80 years of diamond mining along the West Coast of RSA & Namibia. He has experience in financial management, telecommunication, exploration and mining. 17 years in the mining and exploration sector has exposed him to a full range of corporate activities, the experience and expertise developed in dealing with Parastatals and in particular, large mining companies throughout Africa. Reuben understands the commodities trading market very well and has built up extensive networks and relationships with the likes of Glencore, Traxys and Tennant Metals which are a vital asset to the company.

Hendrik Muller van As (B IUR (UOFS)) (Namibian)

HM was born in Durban, RSA, but also has Namibian citizenship. Worked at the legal department of ABSA in Bloemfontein during the early 1990’s as an legal adviser. Decided to become an entrepreneur and moved to Namibia to start a brick making and sand screening business called SEEIS Sand where 10,000 bricks and 200 tons high quality sand were produced on a daily basis through a crushing and screening plant. Founded a software development & IT company that introduced the first laser scanning system to the retail stores in Namibia. Co-developed a POS system that’s currently implemented in the OK Foods (Shoprite Group) and Food Lovers markets throughout Southern Africa. Also did various other software and hardware development projects including the “Absolute Tracker” vehicle tracking system. Developed and installed CCTV and other security technologies including sophisticated face recognition access control systems in Namibia and Angola.

Danie Pretorius (BSc Geo; BSc Soil; GDE) (SA)

Danie holds BSc (Honours) Geology as well as the South African Graduate Diploma for Engineers where he chose geo-statistics as one of his courses. Danie also hold a BSc soil science major specializing in agriculture and soil engineering which he used throughout his career for various consulting projects. Soil science for agricultural purposes was used on consulting projects to recommend fertilizer applications based on soil analysis.
He has more than 30 years of experience in Geology predominantly in the Gold sector but also including uranium, nickel, silver, copper, manganese, copper cobalt and minerals associated with pegmatite deposits in particular tantalite, lithium, precious stones and coal from South Africa and Botswana.
Danie’s experience includes both production and exploration geology including extensive experience in target generation, feasibility studies as well as resource and reserve reporting and evaluations. In addition, he has excellent trouble shooting skills assisted by a strong understanding and experience in mine planning.
Danie is also a qualified professional geologist registered under SACNASP

Jan Joubert
(BEng Chem.) (Namibian)

Namibian born and seen by all in the Namibian mining industry as one of the highest authorities in mining metallurgy and chemistry. Studied Chemical Engineering and worked for Phalaborwa Mining company for many years. His speciality is everything about copper and as a 79 year old veteran there is very little he does not know about the topic. Currently still have his own and self-built electrolysis plant where he manufactures 99.99% pure copper cathodes on contract.
Vast experience of modular Electrolysis Plants and IP that will add tremendous value to any copper (base metal) project.
Numerous consulting contracts for international listed mining houses on base metals over the past 50 years. |
